Kashi Vishwanath, Sarnath, and Dev Deepawali: What the 2026 Group Tour Includes

Dev Deepawali fills the river, but most travellers also come for Kashi Vishwanath, a handful of temples they can actually name, and Sarnath. Doing all of that on the festival date itself is how trips fall apart: the corridor is packed, cars are stopped, and Sarnath is postponed until everyone is too tired to care. The 22–25 November 2026 group splits those aims across four days on purpose.

Vishwanath on the morning after you arrive

Day one (22 November) is arrival, the lanes, and Ganga Aarti. Day two starts on the river at sunrise and then goes to Kashi Vishwanath. Sugam darshan tickets are included in Experience Dev Deepawali in Kashi. Sugam is assisted access. It is not a private audience and it is not a promise about how many minutes you stand before the sanctum. Temple rules and crowd control still apply, and the tour notes say darshan can be shortened when the authorities say so.

The temple circuit, in plain names

After breakfast and rest, the group continues to temples that anchor a first serious visit:

• Kaal Bhairav — the kotwal of Kashi, visited before many other shrines in local practice
• Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple — the Hanuman temple associated with Tulsidas, in the south of the city
• Durga Temple and Tulsi Manas Temple
• BHU and New Vishwanath Temple, when the day’s timing still allows the campus

This is a selected circuit, not every shrine in the Puranas. Nav Durga, Ashta Bhairav, and the longer yatras are different products. On a Dev Deepawali week the goal is to finish the essential temples while people can still walk.

Food and the lanes, before the city closes

Banaras is also a plate of food. The plan includes a local vegetarian experience — kachori with sabzi, jalebi, lassi — and time to look at Banarasi sarees and silk. Shopping on 23 November is deliberate. On the 24th the lanes around the ghats are a procession, not a market you browse.

The first evening’s walk is the heritage piece: old lanes, ghats, and the sound of the city before the festival volume takes over. A separate heritage-walk ticket is not required for guests on this departure; the walk is how the group meets Kashi on arrival day.

Sarnath on the way home

On 25 November, after breakfast and check-out, the vehicle goes to Sarnath. Three stops carry the visit:

• Dhamek Stupa, the principal monument where the Buddha’s first sermon is remembered
• Chaukhandi Stupa
• Sarnath Archaeological Museum, where the Lion Capital and the site’s sculpture are kept

Then the same vehicle continues to the airport or the railway station. Guests are not left to bargain for a cab after a late festival night and a morning of monuments.

Who the group is for

The departure suits families and friends who want one coordinator, one vehicle, and a bed near the river. It is a walking tour with early starts and one very late night. Vegetarian meals follow the package meal plan.
